Premiere Pro users, its time to ditch those third-party audio tools! Adobe Premiere Pro v22.4 just rolled out, and Enhance Speech is the real deal. AI-powered audio cleanup just got a whole lot easier, streamlining your post-production process.

Enhance Speech has graduated from beta, and it means serious business for your audio cleanup. Leveraging advanced AI, it analyzes your clips and intelligently reduces noise while preserving the clarity of the spoken word. Plus, fine-tune the results with customizable settings for the perfect sonic balance.

While Adobe's Podcast voice enhancer has been available online for some time, this is the first official inclusion of the AI feature in their flagship video editor.

But that's not all, Adobe's AI audio arsenal keeps growing! Beyond Enhance Speech, the newest release also included other workflow boosters:

  • Interactive Fade Handles: Get granular control over audio transitions with visual fade adjustments, simplifying those smooth blends.

  • Audio Category Tagging: No more manual sorting! AI analyzes your clips recognizing Dialogue, Music, SFX, and Ambience, streamlining your editing process.

This is just the beginning as Adobe has previewed generative AI video features such and in-painting and out-painting as well as other tools akin to Photshops generative fill tools.

Of course, this isn't Premiere's first AI enhanced audio tool. Remix has been a feature for some time. What is Remix? If you've never used Remix, it is an invaluable tool for shortening or stretching your music.

More about Remix

Remix intelligently analyzes music files and identifies rearrangement points. It lets you easily change the duration of a song to match the length of your video with smooth, natural-sounding transitions.

How to Use Remix:

  1. Import Music: Bring your music file into a Premiere Pro project.

  2. Open Essential Sound Panel: Go to Window > Essential Sound.

  3. Select Remix: In the Essential Sound panel, find the "Remix" tab.

  4. Set Target Duration: Use the slider to define how long you want the music to be.

  5. Preview and Apply: Preview the results and fine-tune if needed. Then, apply the Remix.
